Manly Yoga runs Mens Yoga in Manly for men of all ages and physical abilities. For most men, they experience stiff joints and tight muscles – especially as they become older or after physical exercise. This class is aimed at stretching out those tight muscles and opening-up those stiff joints, to create more ease with movement and greater vitality in daily life.

Men of all ages and abilities are welcome. This is truly a class for men, taught by a male teacher, where everyone just gives it a go, has a laugh and supports each other.

 

What is Mens Yoga?

Our Mens Yoga classes are designed specifically to meet the differing physical needs of men, in a safe and supportive environment.

The emphasis in our Mens Yoga classes is not on competition, rather on developing greater self-awareness and improved flexibility in a group of like-minded men. And because every student has different physical needs and abilities, we focus on adapting postures to the individual abilities of each student.

The class truly supports men to feel healthier, have more energy and experience a greater range of movement for life and any other sporting activities.

 

Who is Mens Yoga Suitable For?

Our Mens Yoga classes are suitable for men of all ages and abilities. The classes are for anyone wanting to improve their health, vitality and flexibility; and to ‘oil those squeaky joints’.

 

Is Prior Yoga Experience Required?

No previous yoga experience is required to do these classes – just a positive attitude and a willingness to turn up and give it a go.

 

What Happens in a Typical Class?

Our Mens Yoga classes combine moderate physical postures to free up stiff bodies, with breathing practices for relaxation and meditation to clear the mind.

Each class starts with an initial relaxation practice to settle the mind and body. This is followed by structured physical practices to promote strength, flexibility and mobility of the bodies main joint complexes: ankles; knees; hips; lower back; mid back; neck; shoulders; elbows and wrists.

Each class ends with some breathing and meditation practices that help reduce stress, balance the nervous system, clear the mind and increase vitality.

The classes are non-competitive and are taught to a supportive group of like-minded men.

Please wear loose comfortable clothing and don’t eat a large meal before class.
